One $40 cab ride later (I swear they rip you off, it was 9 miles!) and we make it to Moline Airport. The flight is short, only about an hour, and we land in Detroit. We are currently waiting to get on the longest flight of our trip, an 8 hour plane ride to Frankfurt. It's a 5 hour layover, so we have some time to kill. I think some drinks are in order for successfully completing our second trimester.
When we arrive in Frankfurt, we will be picked up by Knud, Shannon, Killian, and Killian's girlfriend, Marvii, and then it's off to Italy. Of course from Frankfurt to Italy, you have to travel through Switzerland (and of course stop and at least have lunch!). That brings our total to 3 states and 4 countries in a 24 hour period.
So this will be the first post of many. I want to document our wonderful trip, so come back daily (hopefully) and see how are we are doing. I'm sorry if there is no post June 23rd, we may have something important going on that day.
